TemaTres 1.6 relased: more features to controlled vocabularies management

  • Metadata about last change in any aspect of each vocabulary (terms, relations, notes).
  • Some improvements was added in skos-core import process (now import broadMatch, broadMatch, exactMatch, majorMatch, minorMatch, narrowMatch references)
  • New capabilities in terminological web services: retrieve terms by code and or by reverse mapping references.
  • New ways in mapping among controlled vocabularies
    • mapping by unique code or identifier: you can do automatic mapping between terms who use the some code or identifier
    • Reverse mapping: you can mapping one who was referenced by other vocabulary (something like Trackback link)
  • Alphabetic exploration now have pagination
  • Go to term page when the search retrieves unambiguous and unique results
  • Delete data massively (terms, relations, notes).
  • Now you can encrypt the password in database storage (This is optional, you can config it in db.tematres.php).
  • Procedure to password recovery
  • Preaty and clean URLs for linked data (using .htaccess). For example: http://YOUR_VOCABULARY/skos/10766 , http://YOUR_VOCABULARY/zthes/10766 , etc)
  • Fixed bugs and improved several functional aspects.

Features to the next release of TemaTres

We working in 1.52 release of TemaTres, this release will include the following features:

  • Automated mapping relations between vocabularies to improve multilingual and multicultural controlled vocabularies
  • Delete terms in one step
  • Add end user command to delete the terms of the whole vocabulary
  • Add feature to passwords recovery
  • Import linked data from Skos-core
  • Use AJAX to navigate tree of terms

TemaTres and ISO 25964-1

Tematres 1.5 was released in January 2012 and includes many enhancements designed to extend the configuration possibilities and specialization of controlled vocabularies through the implementation of the new ISO 25964-1

Here some of the new capabilities of TemaTres:

Allow create user-defined relationships

By default, includes the following sub-types of relationships: hierarchical partitive, Hierarchical instance, Spelling variant, Abbreviation, Full form of the term. It allows creation of unlimited sub​​-types of relationships.

Manage relationships between terms and other web entities

Set relations between terms and other resources available online. Allows mapping relationships with other vocabularies, or other web resources.
Includes types of relationships editor for creating new types of relationships. By default include: broadMatch, broadMatch, exactMatch, majorMatch, minorMatch, narrowMatch. These types of relationships are recognized by the skos-core engine as valid to be mapped in skos-core

Export to WXP (WordPress XML)

Export the complete vocabulary to WXP (WordPress XML) allows you to export your vocabulary as WordPress categories. Thanks to Paul Matthews from University of the West of England.

Note types and Skos-core

Since 1.5 version the skos-core engine recognize the follows alias as valid notes type to be mapped in skos-core:

  • DEF: Definition note
  • ED: Editorial note
  • EX: example
  • CH: Change note

Define hidden labels

Now you can define list of sub-type of equivalent terms (non-prefered terms) to be addressed as hidden equivalent terms. You can config it in

TEMATRES_PATH/vocab/config.tematres.php

, HIDDEN_EQ param. By default are defined spelling variants and misspelled variants (SP and MS) as hidden labels.
These types of equivalent terms are recognized by the skos-core engine as valid to be mapped in skos-core as hiddenLabel.

TemaTres 1.4 released!

TemaTres 1.4 is now available to download!! Here the changelog and new features:

- Quality indicators about controlled vocabularies
The Quality assurance was improved with reports about the following quality indicators:
- Free Terms
- Terms without hierarchical relationships
- Average number of words per term
- Terms per N Broader terms
- Terms per N narrower terms and depth
- Terms words with not supported prefixes or suffixes

Now with TemaTres you can Display, export and publish terms and controlled vocabularies through VDEX IMS XML schema (Vocabulary Definition and Exchange). http://www.imsglobal.org/vdex/

- Controlled vocabularies RESTful Services
TemaTres have support for web services accessible through a clear and simple syntax. The service support a wide variety of queries and data can be viewed in XML, JSON or SKOS-Core.
