For the Department of Egyptian Antiquities this term refers to an object in the form of a beetle, with or without additional decoration. For other forms, e.g. hedgehogs, the term SCARABOID should be entered. The Department of Greek and Roman Antiquities uses SCARABOID if the object is beetle-shaped, but lacking anatomical detail. For a seal in the form of another animal, e.g. a lion, the term SEAL
