AG State Agency Counsel
The State Agency Counsel Division provides legal services for 33 state departments and agencies. The Division also acts as a catchall for the Office of the Attorney General, handling work that doesn't fit within more narrowly focused divisions. Additionally, State Agency Counsel serves the state in the following areas: Constitutional defense of laws passed by the Utah State Legislature; Civil rights investigations & efforts at reconciliation; State and local government ethics issues and complaints; Eminent domain work for the Department of Transportation; Administrative proceedings involving the regulation of public utilities; Open Meetings / GRAMA; Civil Review Committee; and Tobacco Issues
