Defunct agency. Th Joint Legislative Operations Committee was created by S.B. 3 Legislative Operations Committee Act, effective July 26, 1966 (Laws of Utah 1966 (2nd S.S.) ch. 6, sections 1-5 and incorporated into statute as Utah Code Ann.. 36-7-1 to 36-7-5.

The act was repealed and the office abolished in 1975 by SB 218 Legislative Organization Act by Senator Karl N. Snow, Jr. effective March 25, 1975. That bill also abolished the Legislative Council, Budget and Audit Committee, Legal Services Committee and Legislative Investigative Committee. (Laws of Utah 1975, ch. 109, sec. 22.)
