The Legislative Printing Office (LPO) was established in 1975 and placed under the direction of the Legislative Fiscal Analyst. The office provides essentially all of the printing, typesetting and graphic services for the Legislature and its staff agencies. During the 1985 legislative session, the LPO was assigned responsibility for the distribution of all legislative publications, including the Utah Code Annotated,
Laws of Utah,
House Journals, and
Senate Journals. In 1989, the LPO, in conjunction with the Office of Legislative Research and General Counsel, began producing the
Laws of Utah. LPO was assigned responsibility for the Legislative Bill Room in the mid-nineties.
LPO now publishes the print House and Senate Journals, Laws of Utah, reports, newsletters, manuals, management audits and other legislative and state agency publications. The LPO is also responsible for the distribution of most Legislative publications including bulk purchases of the
Utah Code Annotated and Utah Code Unnannotated for Utah governmental entities.
